Business Background

Nanjing University’s Network Information Center planned to build a unified cloud platform for the campus. To strengthen the cybersecurity of campus information systems, improve access experience for both domestic and international faculty and students, and promote communication and cooperation with overseas university alliances, the university needed to leverage ZStack’s mature private cloud and Alibaba Cloud public services to construct a seamlessly interconnected hybrid cloud platform.

Solution Deployment

After initial communication, research, and comprehensive evaluation, the client chose ZStack cloud computing products to deploy the hybrid cloud platform for the university. Based on cloud computing service layers and planning periods, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud services were established. In the first phase of the project, the goal was to build a unified infrastructure platform for the data center. After the cloud platform was established, cloud resources would be allocated to meet the needs of department information systems. The project would gradually migrate the current traditional campus information systems to the cloud, including the campus website system, campus card recharge system, and various college websites, club systems, and course selection systems. ZStack’s cloud platform was used as the data backup platform between campuses, providing data archiving for cross-campus information data centers, as well as data cloud storage services for faculty, staff, and students both within and outside the university.

The ZStack cloud platform helped Nanjing University enhance campus information management, providing information technology support for the university’s research teams, teaching activities, and services for faculty and students. It also provided a technological foundation for Nanjing University’s development into a world-class university and top-tier disciplines.
